Earth Month 2023
The first Earth Day took place on April 22, 1970, and it led to the creation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and several other environmental laws. A couple of decades later, the movement went global, and Earth Day is now recognized as one of the largest observances in the world.
While one of the common refrains heard in the green movement is “Earth Day is Every Day”, the month of April is now recognized as Earth Month as a monthlong commitment to being more sustainable and caring for our planet.
There are a number of events and activities taking place in the Dayton area during Earth Month. In addition to the events we have on our calendar, we will share other ways for you to be engaged this Earth Month.
