As we go throughout the holiday season this year, we will share any new tips here. Yesterday, on Small Business Saturday, we got to practice our sustainable gift wrapping at Skeleton Dust Records, doing free wrapping for gifts purchased there or at Pink Moon Goods. Hey everyone! I wanted to share with you all our amazing tour that we took at GoZERO’s composting facility up in Toledo last month. We have been using GoZERO composting services since February 10th, when we opened up our first free composting station at Pink Moon Goods (2027 E 5th St., Dayton). We also have a second station located at 2nd St. Market (600 E. 2nd St., Dayton). We love working with GoZERO because of the friendly service they provide and the fact that they accept all organic scraps, including meat, bones, dairy, and compostable cutlery and cups, which wouldn’t normally break down in backyard composting. 

Summer is over and it’s time to start watching the leaves turn, so that means it’s time for Sustainable September! Similar to Plastic-Free July, this is our attempt to make September a month of sharing sustainability tips throughout the month, along with a few special events. You can check out the

Today, Waste-Free Dayton reached an incredible milestone—our 50th litter cleanup! We kicked off our first cleanup on March 2, 2021, just down the street from where we gathered today. Now, a little over three years later, we’ve hit 50 cleanups, a number we never imagined reaching so quickly when we first started.

I’ve been a runner for over 21 years. One of the most valuable tips I learned early on was the most important gear for the sport of running is your shoes. Depending on your running gait, your build, if you over-pronate or under-pronate, whether running on trails or road, or needing shoes for speed or trainers for longer runs, you should have the right pair of shoes to ensure you’re protecting your feet and preventing injury.
