Birthday Weekend Recap

On April 8th, 2022, Waste-Free Dayton was two years old. We began as a Facebook group, started by our Executive Director Natalie, who desired a community of people who encourage one another and share ideas about how to live waste-free in the Dayton area.

These last two years have been nothing short of amazing, as we have gotten to know many others in the community who share our passion for sustainability, and we’ve seen individuals and groups coming together to solve problems together.

In addition to celebrating our second birthday this past weekend, we were invited to participate in the first annual 3rd Street Shop Crawl in downtown Dayton, the purpose of which was to highlight shops in that corridor, and give other woman-owned vendors a showcase to highlight their products. The event was organized by Reduce & Reuse Refillery and Pink Moon Goods, and vendors were split up between the Refillery’s location on East Third in the Cannery Lofts and Skeleton Dust Records in the Fireblocks District. WFD had a table at Skeleton Dust. Here’s a little recap video we put together, also featuring the vegan cake we got from Cakestar for our birthday.
