Fire Cider

Fire cider is herbal health tonic to help your immune system. It’s a healthy way to combat a cold, especially if you are starting to feel under the weather. Just take 1-2 ounces a day to help you feel better. It’s also a great way to wake you up in the morning. Here Natalie substitutes homemade pineapple cider vinegar instead of apple cider vinegar, and fresh orange juice instead of lemon juice, because that’s what she had on hand. After straining, she composted the ingredients!

Recipe:

-1 medium onion, chopped

-10 cloves garlic, chopped

-2 jalapeño peppers, chopped

-zest and juice from one lemon (or orange)

-1 cup grated ginger root

-1/4 cup horseradish powder

-2 Tbsp turmeric powder

-1/4 tsp cayenne powder

-1/2 cup honey simple syrup

-about 2 cups of apple cider vinegar (or pineapple cider vinegar)
